Flashing Multimedia via USB (Dilink 3, 4, and 5.0)

This is the Multimedia (Dilink tablet) USB flash method used on Dilink 3, Dilink 4, and Dilink 5.0 (23 chipset) when the package targets the msm8953_64 platform folder. The steps are the same on all these versions — what must match is the firmware file for your car, not a different USB folder layout per Dilink generation.

The steps are published in our Guides catalog: Flashing method only for Dilink 5.0 23 chipset (English and Russian). The report title mentions 5.0 / 23 chipset, but owners use the same procedure for Dilink 3 and 4 Multimedia updates with the correct UpdateFull package.

What you are updating

Multimedia = the Dilink screen system (UI, apps, system build). You are not flashing the traction battery (BMS) or motor inverter with this procedure.

You receive a ZIP from a ModHub24 report or community link. You prepare a USB stick; the car detects it and installs while the infotainment is already running.

Requirements

  • ZIP / UpdateFull built for your Dilink version and hardware (wrong file = black screen or no reaction)
  • USB drive formatted NTFS
  • Car powered on, screen on, ~10 minutes uninterrupted
  • Enough battery / stable 12V so the tablet does not power off mid-update

Steps (community method)

  1. Download the ZIP from the guide or firmware entry you checked for your car.

  2. Rename the file to UpdateFull (final name on the stick as used in this method — no extra extension in the path below).

  3. Format the USB drive as NTFS.

  4. On the stick, create folder BYDUpdatePackage, then inside it folder msm8953_64.

  5. Copy UpdateFull into msm8953_64. The path must be exactly:

    BYDUpdatePackage\msm8953_64\UpdateFull

  6. With the system running, plug the USB into the car USB data transfer port (the port used for data / wired phone connection — not every cabin USB port works for updates).

  7. The USB should be recognized automatically. Wait about 10 minutes; the unit updates and restarts by itself. Do not unplug the stick or switch off the car during the process.

After the flash

Open system information (Settings → System → About) and confirm the version changed. If nothing happens or the screen stays black, see USB flash troubleshooting and do not retry until you confirm the package matches your car.
