Compatibility: Dilink 3, 4, 5.0 and the msm8953_64 USB path

The USB layout BYDUpdatePackage\msm8953_64\UpdateFull is used for Multimedia (Dilink tablet) updates on Dilink 3, Dilink 4, and Dilink 5.0 (23 chipset). The installation steps are the same; you pick the correct firmware ZIP for your Dilink generation and region.

Community guide on ModHub24: Flashing method only for Dilink 5.0 23 chipset. The title highlights one common target (5.0 / 23 chipset), but the procedure also applies to Dilink 3 and 4 when the uploaded package is meant for your system.

Supported with this USB method

  • Dilink 3 Multimedia — same folders and steps, matching UpdateFull file
  • Dilink 4 Multimedia — same folders and steps, matching UpdateFull file
  • Dilink 5.0 (23 chipset) — as in the guide above

Always use a package from a report that matches your car (model, region, Dilink version). The path does not change; the file inside UpdateFull does.

Do not use this guide if

  • You are updating BMS, gateway, or other ECU — this is Multimedia / Dilink tablet only.
  • Your report specifies a different platform folder (not msm8953_64) — then follow that report’s path, not this one.
  • You are unsure which UpdateFull is for your car — confirm from system info and uploader notes before flashing.

What goes wrong when the file does not match

  • USB never triggers an update
  • Progress starts then fails; reboot loop or black screen
  • Recovery needs the correct recovery package for your Dilink version — not a random “newer” build from another model

Before you flash

  1. Read the USB flash steps.
  2. Double-check folder structure.
  3. Use the exact file from the report for your Dilink 3, 4, or 5.0 — not a similarly named file from another thread.

When in doubt, ask in the comments on guides_5153b158 or the firmware page you are using.
